Essential Responsibilities: • Working across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement the next generation of products. • Working with customers, marketing and field personnel to understand needs and to capture system and subsystem requirements. • Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on system performance. • Developing risk management strategies; including patient and user hazard mitigations, FMEAs, and privacy and security risk mitigations. • Developing timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems. • Developing continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives. • Understanding how to work within a quality management system for regulated products
Qualifications/Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, System Engineering or closely related discipline. 2. Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in a related field 3. Demonstrated experience in any of the following: System Design, Subsystem designs including hardware and/or software. 4. Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging system design problems. 5. Understanding of system design concepts and subsystem interactions and interfaces. 6. Effective oral and written communication skills.

Desired Characteristics: 1. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other closely related fields. 2. 7+ years of engineering experience in positions of increased responsibility. 3. Experience working in a Systems Engineering team. 4. Working knowledge of Agile methodologies. 5. Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation. 6. Demonstrated technical leadership capability working on a product development team. 7. Self-starter, energizing, results oriented and able to multi-task. 8. Strong desire to drive change and improvements in processes and designs. 9. Demonstrated teamwork, facilitation and influencing skills; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely 10. Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets. 11. Experience working on global development teams. 12. Knowledge of Underwriters Laboratory (UL) standards and how they apply to designs. 13. Experience working with medical devices or in a regulated industry. 14. Knowledge of the IEC 60601 family of Medical Electrical Equipment safety and performance specifications.
