Role Summary: The Gas Power Systems (GPS) Data Visualization Engineer is responsible for developing reporting dashboards to provide global project visibility to milestones from the beginning stages to final plant installation. Scope includes digitizing visualizations and automating manual business processes to provide transparency of project status and risks across the business from top executive leadership to individual contributors.
In this role you will:
Design, develop and implement Tableau reporting dashboards
Partner with Talend developers, IT Project managers and functional teams to gather requirements.
Conduct analysis and convert business requirements into visual based analytics
Conduct analysis for mapping source inputs and assist in design strategy for data modeling
Daily maintenance support of dashboards
Bachelor’s Degree in Design or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math); or equivalent experience
Ability to quickly learn complex source systems and business concepts and convert Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to technical solutions
Ability to implement business logic with advanced Tableau calculations and multiple sources
Good aesthetic skills and ability to propose visualizations based on requirements
Desired Characteristics: Technical Expertise:
Thorough understanding of data normalization & data modelling concepts Knowledge in Tableau server administration including user level access/security, Extract refresh & scheduling etc. Extensive SQL skills and knowledge in Oracle and Postgres SQL querying Strong experience of development in Tableau desktop
Demonstrated awareness of how to function in a team setting Distills information down to key points. Expresses the information clearly and concisely. Projects knowledge of relevant data. Partner with Tableau developers, IT Project managers and functional teams to gather requirements. Work closely with other Talend developers both internal and contractors to deliver positive outcomes
