Role Summary:
You will be responsible for programing a component, feature and or feature set. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. You will also contribute to design discussions.

Essential Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
• Design and implement user stories, features following the rigor in code quality.
• Engage in technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas through white boarding
• Work closely with your peers and keep engaging in a fast paced technical design and development team
• Maintain code quality through best practices, unit testing and code quality automation
• Understand whole product, its modules and the interrelationship between them while being an expert in the assigned component or module
• Participate in designing interfaces and information exchange between modules
• Possess domain knowledge and show great customer focus. Expert in processes / methodologies and Skilled in build, release & deployment processes
• Understand the need for scalability and understand the importance of improving quality through testing.
• Drive design reviews, define interfaces between code modules, and applies existing technology to designs

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
• Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in software development using Java/J2EE technologies, spring, hibernate, JPA, web services.
• Excellent experience using design patterns and best practices in design and development.
• Experience using OSGI technology stack.
• Experience with databases like oracle, sql server and proficient in SQL
• Creative Problem solver.
• Excellent Analytical and Problem solving skills
• Work collaboratively as part of a self-organizing scrum team with minimal supervision
• Participate in verification and testing efforts as needed.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
• Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
• Must be willing to work out of an office located in Barrington, IL

Desired Characteristics:
Desired Characteristics:
• Experience with standards like HL7 preferred.
• Experience with Data Ingestion capabilities preferred.
• Experience developing/consuming micro services
• Experience with cloud preferred – IaaS or PaaS with Azure or AWS.
• Agile/Scrum experience preferred.
• Work with an agile team of 8 to 10 members through the agile development cycle
• Able to clearly articulate and document software designs and strategies
• Write high quality code using test-driven development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices
• Experience using data warehousing and ETL systems

Technical Expertise:
• Master’s Degree/ PHD in Computer Science
• Experience with Windows and Unix / Linux based programming
• Experience working on software projects in the Energy domain (Energy Management, Oil & Gas, Power & Water)
• Certified Scrum Master and/or Product Owner
Business Acumen:

• Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
• Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
• Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trends
• Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices


• Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members
• Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Uses two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing results
• Identifies misalignments with goals, objectives, and work direction against the organizational strategy. Makes suggestions to course correct
