Understands operating systems and networks and the tools used to diagnose problems and validate solutions.
Participate in on call rotation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience
5-8+ years experience in Cloud Service development, compute engineering, architecture and implementation
Strong knowledge of Cloud Management Platforms (Scalr, Rightscale, etc)
Strong knowledge of Cloud Monitoring Software (Sensu, Datadog, Nagios, etc)
Strong knowledge of Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, Verizon, etc)
Familiarity with Automation tools (Chef, Ansible, etc)
Ability to lead a global team
Customer communication skills/focus
Hands on experience designing and implementing solutions leveraging multiple services within public cloud providers via provider and/or cross platform APIs.
Expertise in of Service-Oriented Architecture SOA (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, etc.)
Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration
Demonstrated Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle and Associated Tools
Experience in Agile Scrum teams (i.e. JIRA/Confluence, Rally)
Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills - communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve; creates actionable strategies and operational plans
Change oriented – actively generates process improvements; champions and drives change initiatives; confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly
