Role Summary: Serves as Siebel Lead Technical Configuration Management Project and Problem management resource to provide delivery services for release and non-release activity. Provides guidance and technical leadership to the team
Essential Responsibilities: Responsible for designing a large service or integration of services. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. Leads design discussion in a limited manner. Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for deployment tasks. Skilled in providing oversight and mentoring team members. Shows ability to effectively delegate work. Demonstrates the ability to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment. Understands whole enterprise solution or service, its components and the interrelationship between them while being an expert in the assigned capability. Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions. Expert in processes/methodologies and skilled in build, release & deployment processes. Defines his or her own role in the delivery of the product/service design. Articulates the need for scalability and understands the importance of improving quality through testing. Expert in assessing application or service performance and optimizing/improving it through design and best practices. Expert in core data structures and interfaces for information exchange across platforms. Understands capability of enterprise solutions in order to make sound decisions around configuring software vs engineering software. Understanding of business process to determine how to optimize both process and utilization of enterprise applications. There will be a need for support of CRM production configuration management activities – code migration and release build activities during weekends of release go-lives and off hours Release Activities: • Troubleshoot any environment issues or related defects that may arise during a release. All cases must clearly document root cause, corrective action and preventive action before they are closed. • Proactively monitor release environments and ensure minimal downtime during release development • Create production deployment plan for release go-lives • Technical experts during go-live and drive technical go-live issues to resolution • Post deployment, on an ongoing basis, track and analyze defects in production to identify and configuration management issues and drive corrective/preventive actions • Coordinate with team to create build scripts, cutover plans and resource plans for the go-live. Ensure that build scripts and cutover plans are created, reviewed and approved with project teams, DBA, TSO, Validation Managers (VMs) and GAMS on time. • Effectively communicate unplanned outages and act as the interface with stakeholders who require additional details. • Coordinating with team to ensure that all build activities and refreshes are communicated out to the respective stakeholders and the activities delivered on time and per the agreed upon instance strategy.
Non-release Activities: • Troubleshoot any environment issues or related defects on the production support environments. All cases must clearly document root cause, corrective action and preventive action before they are closed. • Technical experts for any high severity production issue that involves environment setup or misconfiguration and drive the issue to resolution. • Work with team to continuously refine and improve build standards and technical processes followed within the teams. • Drive and Execute Password change management of user and system accounts per business process and frequency • Assist project teams with POCs that need environment design/configuration inputs. • Attend change control calls with GAMS support team and act as the point of contact to drive the deployment of approved change controls. • Coordination and communication for planned and emergency outage of all supported instances • Participate in Command Center calls for managing crisis/emergencies • Participate in Period closing tasks and Global Command Center activities
Qualifications/Requirements: • Siebel application administration experience • Minimum 7 years experience in Siebel Application Administration and Technology on the Solaris and Linux platform. • Strong planners, communicators, and effective project management skills • Experience with process quality methodology • Experience in architecting global, large-scale applications, which span multiple countries and business units • Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously • Drive to learn new technology and build in-depth expertise • Exposure to large CRM environments (200+ users, database > 1 Terabyte) • Demonstrated Siebel applications administration and configuration management /delivery experience • Detailed management and architecture exposure to Siebel applications • Siebel Migration from Solaris to Linux and hosting on Cloud • Web API’s & automation – Continuous Integration/Continuous Development using tools such as Jenkins, GIT with Siebel Applications • Understanding of I/O subsystems, Siebel schemas and associated dependencies • Experience/general knowledge of Manufacturing or CRM systems, data models and interfaces • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Analytic, creative and business-focused problem solver • BS Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent
Desired Characteristics: • Knowledge of Siebel Administration • Understanding of Release management process • PMP /ITIL certified • Experience in the Healthcare industry • Green Belt certified #DTR
