The Project Manager will plan and control GE Digital APM (Asset Performance Management) projects, as well as customer relationship management. This role is responsible for the for the execution and leadership of GE Digital implementation/deployment projects including analyzing the equipment (or processes) to be modeled, model building, software configuration, quality assurance, scheduling and tracking of resources, financial status, schedule and margin targets for SmartSignal projects.
Additional responsibilities include communication with 3rd party vendors and other GE organizations (inside and outside of GE Digital). The Project Manager will also provide technical leadership/mentoring to personnel supporting the assigned projects.
Be the single GE face to the customer (leverage other GE groups as needed).
Lead and complete GE Digital projects on-time and on-budget. Own project performance regarding schedule, quality technical execution and financial expectations per proposal, cost sheet, and scope.
Validate sold project scope and project estimation developed by ITO team and control contract scope and initiation / management of change orders
Lead project scheduling including resource allocation, kickoff, design, implementation, installation, testing, start-up, and turnover to services.
Use Subject Matter Expertise to identify components of Electrical Power Generation Equipment or Oil & Gas Equipment, and map those components to GE Digital APM Software.
Working knowledge of interpreting piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and process flow diagrams, in Power Generation equipment, Oil & Gas, or Mining industries.
Use GE Digital software to design and build models to diagnose equipment failures and performance problems
Insure milestone compliance with invoicing and revenue recognition with regard to technical requirements and schedule.
Drive use of existing product capability, driving standardization, limiting customization, and maximizing reuse of content developed for previous solutions
Coordinate and lead progress meetings with customer and business leadership (financial, technical, issue/risk updates, etc.)
Collaborate with Product Development Team, Commercial Team, Customers, Solution Providers (Partner / Integrators), and other cross-functional teams as required for the solution and implement processes to ensure best use of GE Digital products and services to meet project requirements.
Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with peers and team members as an inclusive leader, supporting pre-sale strategy, Services consulting efforts, and project execution
Proactively solve problems, breakdown barriers, and implement solutions utilizing the collective skills of the SmartSignal team, and other GE divisions, as required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 1-3 years of either Power Generation or Oil & Gas industry experience
Minimum of 1-3 years of project management experience in a lead capacity.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% both nationally and internationally
Fluent in English
Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, or other non-English language
Familiarity with operation and maintenance of equipment used in Power Generation or Oil & Gas applications
Familiarity with Equipment Health Monitoring and Performance Monitoring of equipment
Masters’ Degree in “STEM” Major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
Formal training/certification in Project Management
Experience gathering customer inputs and translating to solution requirements
Demonstrated ability to quickly build trust and rapport, and develop influential relationships at all levels of an organization
Good organizational and time management skills
Strong problem solving skills and a high degree of creativity/resourcefulness
Customer focused & strong interpersonal skills
Working Knowledge of MS Office based products
Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual contributor
Proven ability to write clear, concise requirements, design and general reports (good verbal and written communication skills)
Demonstrated leadership skills
Aptitude for using software tools to solve problems, and enthusiasm for continuous improvement
Ability to handle several projects at the same time in a fast paced environment
Experience managing complex engineering projects
Experience using Proficy SmartSignal and time-based process databases.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Master Black Belt desired
GE Leadership program graduate (eg: EEDP)
