Role Summary: The Field Service Support candidate will be responsible for supporting field service projects by coordinating tooling, direct material, supplies, sub-contractors and transportation needs, in collaboration with the Field Service Supervisor and field service crews.
Essential Responsibilities: In this role, you will support the field service operations, through sourcing, procuring materials, logistics, tracking and accounting of company assets, and repairing and maintenance of tooling and equipment.
In the role of Field Service Support, you will:
Perform inspections of certain tooling and equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and precision measuring tools
Be responsible for calibrating and tracking tooling calibration requirements through GE systems
Determine and execute the methods, sequences and procedures necessary for work completion
Work from engineering/assembly drawings, bills of material, sketches, specifications and data sheets
Determine the appropriate course of action to effectively execute on the processes required and maintain records sufficient to allow for accurate and timely invoicing of field service projects
Maintain control of vendor invoicing to assure timely and accurate vendor payments and costs realization
Abide by all safety requirements of GE & Customers
Be responsible for data entry for purchase requisitions & purchase order
Maintain good driving license record per GE policy
Monitor service technician pool vehicles (State inspection & registration and Vehicle Maintenance)
Be responsible for candidate task to perform inventory control
Be responsible for used equipment part knowledge
Purchase components & ship to locations
Perform electronic data control of components
Associates’ Degree from an accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution and a minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse, shipping and receiving or field service experience)
Minimum 6 months of warehouse, shipping and receiving or field service experience
Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Ability and willingness to work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
Ability and willingness to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, as required
Ability and willingness to be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
Ability and willingness to receive guidance and work with limited supervision; follow work rules, safety practices, work procedures; meet deadlines, must be punctual with high attendance standards
Technical Skills – ability to work from assembly drawings, bills of material, specifications and data sheets
Computer Skills – using SAP and SSS purchasing systems to enter data, process information, order direct materials & services for projects and indirect material services for field service
Ability to work effectively well with others in a team environment
