Role Summary:
The Analytics Operations Lead/Staff Application Operations Engineer - Analytics will have two primary work scopes. The first will include ownership and management of the SAS analytics platform. The second will include operational responsibility for support GET stakeholders and solutions within Transportation’s data lake. This role will be responsible for ensuring applications and platforms meet GET standards.

Essential Responsibilities:
In addition, you will:
<;i>Leverage expertise with SAS analytics technologies to maintain environments to meet and exceed standard performance and availability metrics, including management of contract team.
  • Engage Transportation application stakeholders for operational issues and planned maintenance events.
  • Demonstrate end to end architectural understanding of Transportation data lake hosted solutions.
  • Partner with development teams to take knowledge transfer of new solutions and changes in the evolving application landscape.
  • Provide daily break fix support to Transportation Data Lake hosted solutions from ingestion through consumption.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise across Data Lake technologies to efficiently troubleshoot and improve application performance and availability.
  • Follow ITIL standards for change, problem, request & incident management.
  • Define root cause failures and develop solutions for proper controls/prevention.
  • Seek and deliver continuous improvement opportunities to optimize application performance, data quality & accuracy, application availability and operational optimization.
  • Lead upgrade events including planning, regression testing, cutover and post migration validation and communications.
  • Engage extended teams to drive collaboration, speed and clarity to delivering platforms and applications to enable business outcomes.
  • Develop and/or enhance support process standards, communication, tracking, escalation and resolution.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 8 years of information systems design, implementation, or integration.
  • Minimum of 7 years of Information Technology experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of SAS Admin experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Big Data ETL and Visualization technologies.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT operational role.

    Essential Requirements

  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP, network (WAN/LAN) and firewalls and their impact on connectivity.
  • Working knowledge on AWS, Cloud Infrastructure, services and Architecture is highly preferable.

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Strong debugging and problem solving skills.
  • Prior experience in system design, architecture and performance tuning.
  • Experience with Big Data development.
  • Experience with technologies including Talend, HVR, Python, R, Angular JS, Sisense.
  • Experience with database performance tuning include Greenplum and Hadoop.
  • Experience with server configurations, software installations, and upgrades.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions in a matrix environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Quick learner – able to efficiently seek out, learn, & apply new areas of expertise as needed.
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently.
  • Passion for technology, continuous learning initiated through self study and curiosity.
