Role Summary: Reporting to the Global Operations- Asia Supply Chain Leader, you will be accountable for the development and implementation of robust regional delivery of property solutions within Asia. Global Operations-Properties leads the full spectrum of real estate support functions from facility management to construction projects to defining real estate strategy for locations and offices housing GE's 330k employees.
Essential Responsibilities: GE’s Asia portfolio is over 400 sites across 20 countries servicing over 60k employees. • Responsible for the buy, build and run operating model as well as delivering on the strategic planning to support business needs and growth in country. • Create organizational strategies and execution plans aligned to the four levers driving property cost: rent, facility management, space standards and space utilization to support cost take out of office property expenses • Manage Global Operations- Properties team members, providing leadership, guidance and direction to fulfill goals • Partner with Global Growth Operations CEO/CFOs and business leaders to develop property strategies. • Support regional Business/Financial/HR Leaders to ensure occupation demand measurements and property operational plans are in place and accurate. Facilitate Business/HR strategic quarterly interface on pipeline/headcount growth metrics. • Provide in-country leadership for real estate, operations and project teams and ensure real estate market opportunities are proactively pursued. Recommend and implement activities, capture operational and financial benefits for GE. • Promote/implement agile workplace strategies to support maximum business effectiveness and cost efficiency. • Support M&A and divestiture activities ensuring real estate portfolio migration defined/executed. • Work with functional centers of excellence to implement/establish Global Standards and processes. • Develop and maintain a facilities communication network for reposting and sharing best practices across the businesses • Drive operational delivery consistency/integration with objective to leverage 'economy of scale' commercial solutions in support of cost efficiency and service simplification.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelors’ degree (or international equivalent) in Property Management, Real Estate, Finance (or related discipline) with 10+ years of professional level experience, with 5+ years corporate properties and/or commercial property operations experience.. • Experience supporting large global client populations • Minimum of 4 years’ experience leading a team; successful management experience of direct reports. • Experience with strategic planning • Proven experience in translating strategies into actionable plans • Experience analyzing/reviewing sophisticated financial models and cost/benefit analysis with strong cost and risk management skills • Experience presenting, facilitating, organizing and communicating information • Proven leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to provide guidance at the most senior levels. • Experience building and maintaining business partnerships • Experience leading/driving strategy, prioritizing and mobilizing resources across a wide geographical area • Fluency (reading, writing, and speaking) in English. Desired Characteristics: • Post-graduate degree or an international equivalent in Property, Real Estate, Architecture or Construction Management. • 8+ years of experience in real estate transaction management • Execution oriented, thorough and analytical; strong, proactive problem solving skills • Able to build strong, trusting, relationships and effectively influence and gain support for ideas; robust change management approach • Decisive, able to effectively challenge, push back and drive change at regional level • Promotes and implements a vision of what can be achieved through an overall quality focus • Self-motivated team player, with drive and ability to motivate and get the best out of a multi-functional team and contribute to regional goals • Independent thinker, capable of identifying emerging issues, applying risk management experience in a fast-paced corporate environment • Understanding of emerging/developing markets, diversity and cultural issues • Demonstrable high standard performance in complex, ambiguous and changing environments • Member of industry recognized organizations, such as Building Owners & Management Association (BOMA) or British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) or International Facility Management Association (IFMA) certification.
