Role Summary: The Production Integration and Testing Director role will require an experienced leader with strong technical and systems integration skills. The PIT Director will have primary responsibility for the integration and testing of digital and mechanical systems that will be used to autonomously inspect a variety of industrial sites and include various sensor packages mounted on aerial, ground, and swimming robotic platforms as well as stationary sensors mounted in strategic customer locations.
Essential Responsibilities: The PIT Director will ensure that all systems are integrated and tested sufficiently such that inspection delivery teams have reliable tools that provide repeatable results. The PIT Director must can work effectively in ambiguity, globally and cross-functionally to deliver on program objectives. The PIT Director is responsible for determining the commercial readiness of systems and inform necessary parties when system changes are needed.
In this role, you will:
Lead, plan, organize and perform testing and integration to prepare production ready autonomous inspection systems. This will include software and various sensor packages mounted on aerial, ground, and swimming robotic platforms and permanently mounted at customer sites.
Establish multiple testing sites and facilities and coordinate all activities in sites ranging from small-scale sensor testing facilities to large -scale subsea field trials.
Interface with development labs to move systems from development phase to commercial readiness.
Understand and ensure systems meet customer requirements and deliver readily deployable systems to service delivery team. When systems do not meet requirements, work cross-functionally to develop solutions.
Provide input to commercial methods and procedures and work service delivery teams to modify systems as necessary.
Work cross-functionally with the Program manager, sales teams, development labs, and others to deliver project results with a one team mindset
Own and manage budget and schedule associated with lab activities, including tracking, reporting and estimation
Develop mitigation plans as necessary to offset risks to goals and commitments
Communicate status of programs to senior level leadership on a regular basis and effectively manage all stakeholder requirements to satisfaction
Implement systems engineering processes to enable a strong system configuration, that meets customer requirements, and ensures that all subsystems are fully integrated and operational.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited College or University.
Minimum of 8 years of experience working in a service delivery organization
Minimum of 6 years of experience in a project management role
Minimum of 4 years of program management experience
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 40%, as required
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems integrated with digital systems and autonomy.
Systems engineering mindset.
Extensive testing and system integration experience.
Ability to make key assessments regarding commercial readiness of systems and communicate those assessments to senior management and peers to make informed decisions regarding deployment or system changes.
Proven ability to deliver production ready systems.
Experience or training in digital systems, software,
LEAN Six Sigma MBB / BB certified or equivalent Quality certification
Master's Degree in Engineering
