Role Summary: To independently develop optimized, cost effective and risk abated water, water reuse and wastewater process designs across the GE's Engineered System product portfolio and beyond. The candidate will provide support to Commercial Engineering and Sales team during project development and bid phase; support the Engineering teams during project execution and support the service teams during commissioning and trouble shooting activities.
Essential Responsibilities: All Activities will be focused around our Customers needs incl. direct customer contact in all phases of the project.
Develop/Prepare Process Designs for both proposals and new projects, to ensure accuracy, competitiveness and compliance with design standards, specifications, relevant codes and EHS requirements in the region;
Develop winning bid strategies and design concepts with Commercial Engineering and Sales team. Support Commercial Eng. / sales team with sales calls to clients, owners and consultants;
Provide expert advice / recommendations on various treatability / optimized design options for new projects;
Interact with the Project Manager, Sales, and the customers in technical meetings and present design offerings;
Optimize/refine designs based on customer feedback and meeting customers' requirements;
Provide the input required (including supporting calculations) to prepare project related documents such as but not limited to, equipment/pump sizing, mass balance, PFD's, and P&ID's;
Assist in the timely preparation of Process description and control descriptions;
Assist with the process/trouble shooting sections of Operation and Maintenance manuals;
Finalization of Technical package for Engineering after the project is awarded;
Participate in technical peer risk review within the design review team for projects, to ensure design optimization / value engineering;
Coordinate Pilot test plans and review/approve operating changes;
Review proposals prepared by Pilot Project Manager. Review and approve pilot reports technical content;
Assist/Develop process team on new / improvement existing process engineering tools;
Perform field service activities as may be assigned including: start-up, operator training and systems performance validation;
Working with a team of experts, drive product quality and reliability issues to root cause and corrective action using a disciplined, data-driven approach;
Draft appropriate technical documentation including engineering bulletins/fact sheets
BSc, MSc or PhD Degree in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering or other water related technical discipline;
Previous experience in international working environment is an advantage;
Engineering experience in water treatment and process design engineering;
Process Design Experience including familiarity with membrane based water treatment systems;
Understanding of Water and Wastewater Treatment Equipment & Processes for Pre/Post treatment (Conventional processes, MF/UF, RO, EDR, EDI, IX, MBR);
Experience in complex, integrated (waste-)water treatment schemes involving multiple of the above technologies and beyond is an advantage;
In depth experience with the design of at least one of the above treatment systems – preferably MBR and Desal technologies;
In depth experience or interest in expanding in depth knowledge to other technologies such as RO and/or EDR;
Experience in technical sales, commercial operations/negotiations or product management is an advantage;
Willing to travel internationally and locally up to 10-30%;
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point; knowledge of SAP is an advantage
Fluent in English (written and verbal);
Knowledge of German, French, Turkish, Spanish, Italian or any other European language is an advantage;
