Role Summary:
The continuous improvement specialist reports to the Six Sigma black belt within the Wellstream Newcastle Quality function. The focus will be on driving continuous improvement and six sigma projects within the
Wellstream business.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead continuous improvement (CI) projects with a Quality focus
  • Execute on a portfolio of opportunities to deliver tangible business improvements
  • Demonstrate project success through; financial, quality & customer satisfaction indicators
  • Facilitate cross functional teams to execute on projects that get results
  • Reduce the number of Quality Defects & Cost of Quality for the P&L
  • Partner with Wellstream Niteroi to drive best practices across the Wellstream organization
  • Work cross-functionally between the Wellstream teams to resolve quality issues and drive long-term quality improvements
  • Be a business influencer to drive positive change
  • Support the site Black Belt / Six Sigma leader on projects, workouts & trainings
  • Support internal workouts and training
  • Support business critical system implementations e.g. Oracle modules
  • Work with the customers to gain real-time “Voice of Customer” (VOC). Become a strong advocate for the customer
  • Support RCAs and audit effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Perform duties as an internal quality auditor and RCA leader
  • Promote Wellstream Quality culture, both internally and externally


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Significant experience in Quality or Manufacturing operations and preferable to have exposure to commercial, engineering, MRP etc.
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of employees, management, functions and diverse audiences, including suppliers and internal/external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a proactive change agent, passionate about quality and customer loyalty.
  • RCA/troubleshooting experience with ability to drive significant culture changes.
  • Proven attention to detail, with excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and personal organization skills.
  • Capable of analyzing data to make sound decisions on suitability and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Excellent project management and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in software applications MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Oracle, GE GenSuite and SupportCentral is a benefit.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter capable of remaining flexible to changing work priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, oral and written).
  • Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines, with the ability to bring assignments to a successful completion.
