Role Summary: The (Inquiry to Order) ITO Sourcing intern supports costing activities to enable ITO and Sales personnel in ITO management. Acting as the key interface between the Sourcing & ITO Functional Teams, the ITO Sourcing Intern will interact with suppliers to provide best sourcing strategic to ensure best cost for new business opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities: • Support ITO sourcing members to ensure all Sales groups have effective strategic sourcing plans. Each plan should consider any location or product line-specific terms and conditions, and any delivery / quality / cost risk and variation tracking tools (the communication of these plans to operational personnel, Sales colleagues, suppliers and clients will be critical to their successful implementation) • Preparing, issuing and evaluating quotation requests. Negotiate and finalize price, quality, delivery, and other terms according to customer needs. • Identify and obtain as necessary deliverables from other departments such as Engineering, Quality and Procurement that are critical for bid compilation; if necessary arrange clarification meetings • Ensuring cost estimates are derived from current valid quotes via the approved supply base wherever possible and that the quotes are valid for the duration of tender and any escalation is agreed with the Finance team • Ensuring quoted Direct Material delivery schedules can be met • Ensuring local content requirements are accurately assessed and estimated • Reviewing the Sourcing input to the ITO package for Direct Materials (inputs and assumptions) to ensure costs reflect current market price • Providing feedback to suppliers following the ITO tender process • Delivering a full handover package to the OTR (Order to Remittance) teams on contract award • Ensuring all new suppliers are subjected to the correct level of commercial review and due diligence regarding all forms of compliance • Run and follow up of Global ITO sourcing metrics • Support and execute Sourcing and/or Supplier Quality initiatives • Implementation and Execution of cost out projects • Establish work plan to support Sourcing metrics such as Deflation, Cash, Cost of Quality, among others. • Update and addition on new suppliers into the system
Qualifications/Requirements: • Student in last semesters of International Business, Engineering, Finance. • Effective and professional verbal and written communication – both with internal and external customers (English & Spanish) • Demonstrate professionalism and quality on the daily process demand • Demonstrate focus and commitment • Ability to work under tight time deadlines, with frequently changing priorities • Presentation skills: ability to present the results of his/her work.
