Role Summary:
Responsible for programing a component, feature and or feature set. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. Contributes to design discussions

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies for integration management and
    governance.
  • Provide technical leadership regarding integration impact
    across business, information, application, and security architecture.
  • Design and implement robust API security for backend micro
    services.
  • Develop a micro service based platform that can grow with
    the business.
  • Establish automated build and deployment pipelines
  • Provide technical leadership to an agile team of 5-7 Work
    with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements &
    vision translate requirements / vision into prioritized list of user stories
    and deliver to required timelines and quality standards Work with product line
    leaders and architects to develop multi generation software technology plans.
  • Engage subject matter experts in successful transfer of
    complex domain knowledge
  • Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like
    Lean/Agile/Scrum, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation
    Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
  • Write code that meets standards and delivers desired
    functionality using the technology selected for the project
  • Understand performance parameters and assess application
    performance
  • Proactively share information across the team, to the right
    audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness



Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors
    (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR Master’s
    degree with 3 years of experience
  • Experience in software integration and API Management.
  • A passion for DevOps and an appreciation for Continuous
    Integration/Deployment
  • Experience with modern tooling (Eclipse / IntelliJ, Maven,
    NPM, Grunt, Git, Chef, Cloud Foundry, etc.)
  • Experience developing and deploying micro services in
    distributed environment.
  • Experience developing applications in spring boot/spring frameworks













Eligibility Requirements:



  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this

Desired Characteristics:
Technical Expertise:
  • 2+ experience with API management and security.
  • 2+ years experience in agile software delievery (Scrum, XP)
  • 5+ years experience with developing and deploying applications in cloud (Pivotal cloud foundry)
  • A passion for DevOps and an appreciation for Continuous Integration/Deployment
  • Experience with modern tooling (Eclipse / IntelliJ, Maven, NPM, Grunt, Git, Chef, Cloud Foundry, etc.)
  • 5+ years experience developing backend applications (RESTful Web services)
  • Being an open source contributor
  • Experience with service-oriented (SOA) and event-driven architectures (MQTT)

  • Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members
  • Makes suggestions to course correct
  • Effectively balances different, competing objectives
