Role Summary: Responsible for programing a feature and or a small feature set. Contributes to the team and works with direction from Senior Team Members or management, beginning to work independently.
Has the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary.
Demonstrate the ability to help team members through pair programming and code reviews.
Demonstrates awareness about product positioning and differentiations.
Has the ability to evaluate basic technology choices and articulate tradeoffs.
Applies principles of SDLC and Lean/Agile/XP/TDD/CI/CD methodologies to deliver high quality, secured, and scalable software modules.
Skilled in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
Skilled in core data structures and algorithms and implements them using language of choice
Develop and implement solid, scalable and flexible software solutions for business and application teams migrating, transforming, and/or developing applications in the public cloud.
Evaluate detailed technical application designs and serves as a subject matter expert for GE development teams in optimizing applications to take advantage of public cloud services.
Develop reusable solutions, to assist and accelerate business teams migrating, transforming, or creating applications for the public cloud.
Share, evangelize, and practice cloud development best practices and culture with business application and development teams.
Document, partner, and share templates, techniques, and artifacts with other development teams around GE.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience

Demonstrated 2-3 years of experience and expertise developing software and services for the cloud in at least one of the following: Ruby (core or on Rails), Python, Java, PHP, and/or .NET.
Hands on experience designing and implementing solutions leveraging multiple services within public cloud providers via provider and/or cross platform APIs.
Knowledge in of Service-Oriented Architecture SOA (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, etc.)
Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration
Knowledge with pair programming
Demonstrated Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle and Associated Tools
Knowledgeable with Agile development practices
Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills - communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve; creates actionable strategies and operational plans
Change oriented – actively generates process improvements; champions and drives change initiatives; confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly.
