Role Summary: The System Administration Engineer will provide technical expertise, guidance, and system administration for the design, implementation, and support of hardware and software platforms.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:
Support the design and deployment of infrastructure & software solutions meeting standardization, consolidation, TCO, security, regulatory compliance and application system qualities
Ensure operational excellence with our technical environments & services
Partner with technology teams for creating and implementing the overall technical stack strategy and plans
Partner with the Chief Technology Organization & Operations team to develop and implement the overall platform performance and availability strategy
Work closely with the Software Implementation teams to understand the environment needs and design and develop a strategy for physical & virtualized environments
Produce documented plans, frameworks, processes and contribute to the creation of IT documentation such as Technical Architecture Document, Configuration Guide and Support Guides
Support, advise, assist, guide and resolve hardware & software problems for Program teams as well as support the activities to manage applications from non-production to production environments
Participate in the evaluation and implementation of third party software solutions within the technology stack
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 7 years of experience as a system administrator of large, complex, enterprise IT systems
Proven experience with UNIX / Linux / Windows operating systems
Proven technical knowledge & skills including systems administration, application installations, configurations, software deployments, & technical support in complex environments.
Demonstrated understanding of IT architectures & deployments
Demonstrated issue resolution, troubleshooting & problem solving skills with Production support experience
Demonstrated understanding of IT Processes, Standards, & Compliance
Interpersonal and technical skills with proven abilities to communicate complex topics to leaders and peers in a simple, clear, plan oriented manner
Team player ready for a fast-paced and complex technical environment
Experience with physical, virtual, and cloud server / storage architectures, configurations, software installations, and upgrades
Experience with server & application logging and performance & availability monitoring
Knowledge of current information technologies and concepts including Web & Application Servers, VMWare, Oracle Database, J2EE / Java, Apache, JBOSS, .NET, SQL, Scripting, LDAP, Firewalls, Load Balancing, Backup, Automation, Chef, Jenkins, Cloud Computing, Monitoring, Nagios, Load testing, Capacity planning
Teamcenter experience is beneficial
Experience with best practice in Change Control & Release Management
Established system administration, analytical, and problem resolution skills
