Role Summary:
The Staff Systems Administration Engineer will be responsible for providing system administration support of enterprise asset management and plant maintenance systems within GPS North America factories. In this role, you will also be responsible for executing and delivering system upgrade and enhancement requirements, manage mobility solutions, and administration of established integrations with other systems.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Own, manage system health and uptime based on business defined SLA
  • Own, manage system continuous performance improvement
  • Optimize all system environments to get best results based on capacity growth
  • Use industry best practices to improve performance monitoring processes
  • Analyze system logs and identify potential system issues
  • Report design and development using system and external reporting tools
  • Introduce and integrate new technologies into existing system environments.
  • Perform routine audits of all systems and software.
  • Add, remove, or update user account information, resetting passwords, etc…
  • Answer technical queries and assist customers
  • Ensure optimal security standards are being applied to all system environments
  • Responsible for documenting the configuration of all system environments
  • Troubleshoot any reported problems.
  • Identify and resolve issues to minimize impact to plant operations.
  • Technical problem solving, research, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Serve as escalation point for ticket and incident facilitation and monitor to resolution.
  • Understand the manufacturing systems and processes, its critical information flows, and support requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional groups to coordinate design, development, and deployment activities
  • Handle multiple projects and enhancements at the same time, ensuring deadlines are met while driving best practices
  • Initiate direct communication with specific customers, clients, suppliers and systems personnel
  • Act as a change agent for business processes
  • Keep up to date with enabling technologies and work as a partner to promote their use




Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 5 years of technical hands-on experience supporting or delivering technology services in a large enterprise environment.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience providing Windows & UNIX based management and support with hands on experience in configuration and deployment.

  • Working knowledge in some of the following subject areas: Windows management, LINUX management, VBscript, Active Directory, Single Sign On, Shell
  • Scripting, Oracle, SQL, WebServices, XML, Predix, Networking, Server Management
  • Demonstrated Customer First focus
  • Ability to establish partnerships with site leaders and business partners
  • Strong technical acumen and business analytic skills
  • Established success in satisfying the needs of client base, and the ability to prioritize in a demanding environment
