Role Summary: The person in this role will manage the Gas Turbine Conversion, Modification & Uprate (CM&U) jobs ensuring the project is completed on schedule with customer satisfaction
Essential Responsibilities: -Lead Gas Turbine Conversion, Modification & Uprate (CM & U) jobs involving all resources relative to design, production, availability, and manage the schedule during each phase of the project. -After period of training, have requisition engineering responsibility for gas turbine CM & U projects in the India and / or MEA region and support jobs around the globe. -Work closely with customer, application engineering, engineering, commercial team, services team, project manager, order administrator, service manager, contract performance manager and manufacturing teams as needed to ensure customer deliverables are met during the execution of project. -Direct changes to the schedule, as required, throughout the life of the project -Support the outage, including site issues, as-built drawings, and ensure subsequent unit record updates. -Address customer queries and provide technical responses and clarifications as required -Use GE power generation engineering tools to support preparation of customer responses -Interpret customer requirements to determine proper application of General Electric equipment to ensure GE’s competitive position and ultimate customer satisfaction -Support GE productivity and quality initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements: -B.E / B.Tech Mechanical Engineering -B.E / B.Tech / M.E. / M. Tech. Mechanical or Structural Engineering -4 to 8 years experience in gas turbine based power plant design including system design, performance & cost evaluation -Solid understanding of gas turbines with at least 2 years of project engineering experience. -Equipment selection experience based on system specifications & cost. -Global mindset with a willingness to understand different cultures and work collaboratively -Effective time management skills & multitasking ability. -Excellent written & verbal communication and presentation skills -Willingness to travel
Desired Characteristics: -Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems -Strong interpersonal and leadership skills -Advanced Engineering Degree -Gas turbine design, manufacturing, or assembly/ test experience. -Customer interface experience -BB / Green Belt certification (GE only)
