Role Summary: Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. Entry level professional positions; includes some team leader positions. Requires good understanding of work routines and procedures. Limited independence in problem solving and decision making.
Essential Responsibilities: • Preparing monthly journal entries based on the primary documentation • Preparing monthly journal entries based on the IFRS principles • Assisting in the improvement in internal controls related to accounting processes • Monitoring open items and unclosed processes • Reconciling subledger to the general ledger • Special projects as required • Collect and store all required primary documentation • Manage and perform month end close activities and ensure submission within deadlines • Provide support to businesses on relevant issues; build and maintain strong working relationships with the local GE Businesses • Effectively support various GE Teams with data requests
Qualifications/Requirements: • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Accountant. • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required. • An understanding of GAAP/IFRS. • Is flexible and able to work as part of a team. • Proficient in MS Excel, 1c program • Oracle experience as advantage • Intermediate or above English skills, both oral and written • Strong time management and multitasking skills; • Self-directed and motivated to work independently but flex into a team setting as necessary • Flexibility in shifting priorities across different financial functions
