Role Summary: Advice and leadership on employee and union or works council relations. Advises management on legal/labor law/regulatory issues and risk management. Positions requiring thorough understanding, application and mastery of approaches, theories, methodologies and application in a concrete organizational context.
This individual in this position UR responsibilities for the 550 employees at our Madisonville, KY manufacturing site.
Provide day-to-day Union Relations support
Represent the Company at all legal proceedings related to Madisonville Union Relations
Provide advice and counsel to management on contract language interpretation and any other Union policies, practices and procedures
Provide leadership, counsel and support to management on all matters related to / involving administration and management of union represented employees
Negotiate collective bargaining agreements and terminal stage grievances
Assist the Legal Operations team with all legal matters pertaining to the Union such as, arbitration hearings, NLRB hearings, discipline review boards, etc.
Assist other functional work groups such as Compensations, Benefits, Staffing, etc. in matters pertaining to union represented employees
Establish and promote a cooperative and collaborative management/employee work environment through the personal exercise of positive climate setting strategies and practices.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor Relations and/or 3 years experience in Human Resources with strong exposure to Labor Relations

Ability to influence others and lead small teams
Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Proven analytical and organizational ability.

The GE Aviation plant in Madisonville, Kentucky, is a Turbine Airfoils plant that supports GE Aviation by manufacturing high pressure turbine airfoils (blades and vanes).
