Role Summary: The Sales Team Leader will be directly responsible for the hiring, oversight, management and development of a group of Sales Specialists. This role will manage a reduced number of key accounts in their territory while also leading the sales team in the assigned product line and territory. The Sales Leader will be responsible for delivering the overall orders, sales, CM op plan for the business for the assigned team and individual accounts.
Essential Responsibilities: The Sales Team Lead will need to work closely with the product line sales directors, customer care team leaders and marketing representatives to establish and maintain sales processes, customer relationships and forecast progress towards operating metrics.
In the role of Sales Team Leader, you will:
Be responsible for your individual territory and op plan as well as your team’s op plan
Mentor team with customer strategies, campaign plans, and leadership
Assist with strategy and growth initiatives within the region
Help to resolve regional customer issues as necessary
Participate in opportunity tracking calls and op review calls
Ensure accuracy of the sales opportunity management system (i.e. Salesforce or other CRM tool)
Be aware of total sales funnel and coach your assigned team on funnel management
Negotiate contracts including: commercial terms, pricing and fulfillment of all compliance requirements
Partner with product line sales leaders to ensure customer responsiveness and to promote orders growth
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (or High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution and a minimum 7 years of experience in sales negotiation)
Minimum 3 years of experience in sales negotiation
Ability and willingness to travel 50%, as required
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Ability to structure creative deals for customer solutions, negotiate contracts, and deal effectively with customers
Experience managing direct reports or teams
Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and multitasking skills
Demonstrated ability to engage in high-level sales and business discussions
Demonstrated past success in sales and / or services
Experience with standard customer-service and sales-database programs (i.e. Salesforce.com or similar CRM)
Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools
Proactive work style, creativity, high energy
