Essential Responsibilities: GE Energy Management Services, LLC seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia to develop software and maintain components, systems and their networks for software development projects. Develop field smart and mobile software for electric, gas, water, and telecommunications utility customers using HTML, Python, Oracle Scripting, and SQL. Analyze user needs to design and write code using Java, C++, and Visual Basic for applications development, components, and interfaces including Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Design, implement, and test software, ensuring software quality control and quality assurance processes are met. Drive performance and reliability enhancements. Interact with customers to drive requirements and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering (any field) and 3 years of related experience. Position also requires 3 years of experience with code writing using Java, C++, and Visual Basic; 2 years of experience in software quality control and quality assurance processes; some experience with HTML, Python, Oracle Scripting, and SQL; and some experience with GIS application development. Telecommuting is permitted.
