Role Summary: S/he demonstrates expertise in strategy and marketing and advises regional leadership. A key member of the Region CEO’s staff, S/he is a champion for driving growth and strategic changes from the ordinary course of business. S/he owns the marketing function, budget and deliverable s and is responsible for outcomes that span business growth, strategy alignment, industry thought leadership and GE differentiation
Essential Responsibilities: Plan and execute tasks driving business direction around the 5 major FAQs through: • Actionable industry, customer and competitive intelligence • Identifying key industry trends, competitive threats and disruptive models • Development and execution of regional business blueprint / growth strategy for the next 5 years • Monitoring and actively advocating industry policies which differentiate GE; be the voice of GE at MNRE, regulators and industry forums • Demand generation through field marketing / lead generation campaigns; introductory presentations to key accounts • New business model, customer segment and product incubation • Defining customer value proposition, go-to-market strategy and market activation • Developing marketing and sales enablement collaterals and white papers • Planning and executing digital, advertising and promotional campaigns, including industry and GE events • Building GE thought leadership in the market through industry forums; often representing GE directly or pitching key executives on industry panels and with general and trade media • Driving growth of services business and developing a services mindset in essentially a products company • Leading commercialization of digital offerings through innovative monetization models, partnerships and developing the Predix ecosystem • Ongoing consulting support to global and regional leadership on demand • Engaging and provoking regional stakeholders (business leadership, global team, GGO, GRC, Government Affairs and Policy, Digital, other GE businesses) on the state of the industry and GE response • Telling a consistent GE story externally and internally • Building a function and brand that is a talent magnet, grooming and mentoring team
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering • MBA in Marketing preferred • At least 5 years of industry experience in Marketing in a Industrial high-tech company … GE leadership program or ECLP alumni preferred • Excellent relationship building and networking skills … internally and externally • Ability to work horizontally across organizational hierarchies, functions and regions … managing a matrix • Delivering results in a VUCA world … ability to get things done • Data-driven, unbiased point of view … and the confidence to air it humbly • Flair for communication; advanced PowerPoint capabilities … great executive presence • Proven content writing skills … developing compelling stories with single line briefs • Ability to work independently and without supervision … quick learner • Drawing inspiration from other industries … and applying it in GE context • Driving teams with little or no control towards a common goal … leadership by inspiration than reporting • Digital native … credible online presence and following
