Role Summary: The Lead Supplier Quality Engineer will demonstrate leadership with supply base by driving quality improvement and works with other stakeholders to drive improvement in Supplier Management processes. In this role, you will use your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
In addition you will :
Be responsible for driving quality for assigned suppliers, improving quality performance via Quality Improvement Plan implementation
Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes
Develop positive relationships and work closely with Sourcing Leaders to manage and implement supplier/engineering changes, New Product Introductions, and transfers
Interface with Suppliers and Supply chain to drive Quality improvements which will include significant travel to supplier sites
Deliver results as measured by key metrics, such as supplier non-conformance rate, field defect rate, supplier quality plan engagement / effectiveness, and corrective and preventative action closure
Develop and track metrics summarizing supplier performance
Develop and execute supplier monitoring process including conducting supplier audits, and drive closure to Corrective Action Requests for issues identified through supplier monitoring
Manage supplier improvement through corrective and preventive action on supplier non-conformances, and work with supply based to provide data required in support of non-conformance disposition
Work with other stakeholders to drive improvement to Supplier Quality and Supplier Management processes
Provide advanced Supplier Development of new product introduction involving new processes or advanced automated equipment
Ensure flow-down of applicable quality requirements to supply base
Act as consultant to the Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering organizations to improve Quality and Manufacturing processes, introduce new products, and improve product design
Provide leadership role during investigations of major problems and of special projects
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (Or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering or quality role)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing or quality
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employmen
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Experience in a Sourcing or Quality Improvement role
Ability to drive change
Strong organizational, analytic, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in cross-functional teams in a matrix environment with all levels of personnel
Strong working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality operations
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Ability to coach, manage, change and facilitate team performance
Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions
Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality training
