Role Summary: Electronics Technician 3 Tests & troubleshoots complex electronic products using standard and specialized test equipment with little assistance on multiple product types.
Essential Responsibilities: • Troubleshoots electronic products to component level & sub-assembly level utilizing schematics and standard troubleshooting practices and procedures • Assists in the transition of new products from Engineering test to Production Test • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications with the ability to submit redline procedure changes. • Identifies root cause and corrective actions; actively engaged in Failure Review Process (FRB) • Sets up test equipment and tests all types of electronic products using established test procedures and schematics includes but not limited to highpower, NPI, build to print, etc. • Uses product test and measurement equipment, Digital/Analog Voltmeters, oscilloscopes, Hi-Pot meters, power supplies, and Automatic and Standard Test Equipment, etc. • Cross - trains, mentors and provides technical assistance to other technicians including but not limited to other Technician 2's & Technician 3's • Provides escalated technical guidance to Assemblers • Performs cross functional tasks within fairly similar situations resulting in standardized but not identical outcomes • Reviews and suggests corrections and simplification to test procedures, schematics and fixtures • Recommends and/or proposes process improvements • Ensures that all relevant quality information/feedback is provided • Utilizes written or visual instructions involving use of quantitative information from specifications, schematics, graphs, pictures, gages, etc. • Provides written and/or oral communications concerning a variety of situations following test, troubleshooting, examinations, etc. • Keeps workstation, tools and equipment in a neat and orderly manner • Understands and complies with all Company, safety rules and regulations • Engages and participates in a self directed teaming environment
Qualifications/Requirements: Education Required: Associates degree in Electronics (2 year) or certified program (18 mos.) OR Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET); Preliminary Review (PR) Certification must be obtained within Probationary period. Work Experience: (With Associates or Cert): 3 - 5 years of electronics related exp (With Bachelors): related experience desired, not required Skill Level Required: Knowledge of the operation and use of Electronic Production Test equipment and hand assembly tools used in a High Tech Surface Mount & Through-Hole Technology manufacturing & production environment; Knowledge of Advanced Electronic Test and Troubleshooting techniques to component level; Should have a high level of electrical & mechanical aptitude & analytical skills; Must have an understanding of manufacturing process and be able to effectively troubleshoot problems; Should possess dexterity skills, good hand & eye coordination. Must maintain PR Certification.
