Role Summary:
Leverage digital tools to transform Mechanical Systems business practices crafted in the 1980s into globally competitive products which maximise customer benefits and returns to shareholders.

Essential Responsibilities:

Develop the strategy to use digital solutions to sell support services, using Dowty Propellers (current sales $180m p.a.) as an incubator to develop and refine a set of digital tools to add value for aircraft mechanical systems in general. Lead the definition of requirements, design and delivery of these tools to maximize product reliability, asset utilization and reduce maintenance costs. To support this, lead programmes to capture product data (bill of materials, service bulletin status, and maintenance history) and shop visit data, to track assets and to standardize shop visit practices for maximize effectiveness and efficiency. Another key need will be to identify key customer partners (such as Boeing) to trial and develop the market for these tools.
This role will be based at the Dowty Propellers business in Gloucester/Cheltenham.
• Gather market intelligence and competitive information to understand overall market conditions and customer needs
• Develop clear and concise value propositions from the customer's perspective that addresses their needs and maximizes impact for the business goals, leveraging deep knowledge of industry, customer and product.
• Develop business strategy and investment plans
• Deliver business cases to demonstrate that the strategy and investments will meet required targets for financial returns
• Identify and implement strategic customer partners, suppliers and acquisitions
• Test market with early-MVPs to validate strategy: work with Marketing to identify rapid prototype products and services initially for Dowty Propellers and subsequently wider Mechanical Systems
• Develop and lead organization team to deliver services
• Work across the matrix to leverage applicable GE initiatives (e.g. Digital)
• Communicate, train and support global sales directors in executing sales propositions with customers.
• Demonstrate command of the contractual terms and conditions specific to the product solutions negotiated with and sold to the customer
• Understand financial risk/controllership/regulatory compliance issues;
• Employ operating rhythm rigor to implement & execute process to achieve customer targets and sales plans; support the overall business management team to create plans that meet business objectives via operating rhythms


• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge and experience
• Extensive years of experience in Sales, Program Management, or Customer Support, ideally in Aviation services business
