Role Summary: As the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Controls Engineer at the Dalia Power Plant you will be responsible for the design, development and verification requirements, as well as engineering for multiple OEM Controls. You will provide technical guidance to Sales, Commercial teams and Customers regarding development, application, maintenance and upgrades of non-GE Controls.
Essential Responsibilities: Provide recommendations and solutions to support a variety of commercial opportunities including multi-year service agreement, technical proposals (including research, technical description, performance, and cost definition), as well as support the development of new technology, and partner with the OEM Engineering & Commercial teams to drive total plant solutions for customers. As the OEM Controls Engineer, you shall: • Lead the conceptual design, cross-functional development, and delivery of various controls platforms and solutions. • Partner with Customers and Commercial teams to develop business opportunities and customer proposals. • Work with Customers and User Groups to determine what products, upgrades and services are available to meet customer’s needs as well as long term performance and product requirements. • Provide product support, including emergent support, engineering outage processes, and strategic reliability and quality improvements • Resolve in-depth, technical issues in non-GE controls technology for customers in an efficient and timely manner • Partner with GE Power Services and GE Power Digital in the areas of Monitoring & Diagnostics and Software & Analytics to support remote monitoring and analytics capabilities on non-GE equipment. • Identify and manage product safety risks. • Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing to the global OEM Engineering technical community. • Review customer specifications and ensure offering meets requirements as well as identify exceptions. • Identify risk areas and address technical issues inherent with retrofitting non-GE control systems. • Develop product cost understanding by working with cross functional teams to optimize OEM proposals. • Work with Product Line and Sales teams to define strategy for risk management • Partner with design engineering teams, commercial teams, manufacturing, service shops, operations and suppliers to develop and implement technical solutions to meet customer needs and maximize equipment capability. • Work with GE technological teams across Engineering, Global Research, and Advanced Manufacturing to drive differentiating technologies into OEM proposals that offer advantaged durability, performance and costs. • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and trainings. • Support business strategy and goals (cost reduction, continuous improvement, etc.). • Implement initiatives to continuously improve the responsiveness of the section/organization to customer / business needs.
Qualifications/Requirements: o Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; o Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, 3 of which with Controls systems; o Knowledge of Gas turbine controls with demonstrated technical credibility; o Previous experience working with Controls Engineering; o Previous experience defining technical programs as well as in design and development of new products and upgrades; o Strong technical aptitude, including a solid understanding of engineering tools and systems; o Strong oral and written communication skills – in Hebrew and in English.
