Role Summary: As a plumber/steamfitter, you will perform skilled plumbing activities in support of the facilities maintenance and project efforts.
Essential Responsibilities: Performs full range of skilled plumbing activities including fabrication, layout, assembly, erection, installation, maintenance and repair of piping systems. Ensures workplace safety standards are met or exceeded.
You will perform work assignments involving fabricating, laying out, assembling, erecting, installing, servicing, maintaining, repairing and dismantling of piping systems including refrigeration and air conditioning, pipe railings, pipe racks and the making of hangers, supports, etc., associated with both facility and equipment maintenance, repair and projects. Provide support on technical aspects of job planning, material requirements, sequencing of tasks, etc. Plan and execute jobs in keeping with plant health, safety and environmental compliance requirements. Interface effectively with other trades, laboratory staff, facilities staff, contractors and visitors.
AAS Degree in Mechanical or Plant Utilities Technology, or an AOS Degree in HVAC or Construction & Maintenance, or Military Training Course (Class A) in related field, or 3 years work experience in a Manufacturing Facility (with references), or 3 years proven experience in Commercial HVAC service and installation; or Completion of 3 years of a Plumber/Steamfitter Apprentice Program.
Ability to read and interpret blue prints and related technical documents.
Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and frequently, carry, climb and work in elevated spaces and extreme temperatures.
Must have valid NY State drivers license and be able to drive cars and pick-up trucks.
Position requires availably to work overtime as needed.

Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
