Role Summary: The Sr. Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and testing software to create solutions and services tailored to the needs of the business and external customers. Requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies. You will be a member of an integrated squad working together to deliver successful outcomes on the GE Predix platform and on-premise hosted applications.
Essential Responsibilities: As Sr Software Engineer, you are:
Responsible for programming a component, feature and or feature set.

Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.
Ability to take ownership of small and medium-sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members.

Demonstrates awareness or product positioning and key differentiators.
Expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems.
Skilled in core data structures and algorithms and implements them using appropriate chosen language.
Promotes transparency by proactively sharing design choices with appropriate audiences, with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness.
Demonstrates expert understanding of functional and nonfunctional requirements and their priority within the backlog.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development using C#, Java or C++
Minimum of 1 year of experience Leading Software Teams
Minimum 2 years of experience working with Agile software development methodologies
Strong knowledge of OOA/D, software design patterns and principles
Experience with SQL DBs
Able to work under minimal supervision
High energy, results driven person with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to make basic technology choices based on experience

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio/TFS 2012 or later
Strong knowledge of JUnit or Test Driven Development practices
Expert in software development technologies
Strong knowledge of SOA based development and Cloud computing
Strong Web Service, XML technologies (SOAP, JAXB, WSDL, XML)
Excellent problem-solving skills
Programming experience with Agile and/or Fastworks Methodology
Experience with Windows and SQL databases
Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills
Evaluates products & processes to assure compliance. Measures the impact of trends (cyclical or a shift) and takes action relative to product value position and overall strategy
Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses
