Role Summary: Successful candidates will support aero-derivative gas turbine repair industrialization programs through developing non-conventional machining applications in internal/ end-customer shop level. Short/Middle term focus for the successful candidate will be EDM machining and Spark Erosion Grinding process development and industrialization for honeycomb structural components.
Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities for the successful candidate involves;
• Leading EDM equipment taken into service. • Identifying equipment, consumable, tooling and investment needs for process realization. • Making process planning considering potential risks and road blockers, in coordination with related component engineer. • Knowing industry practices, company specifications and material compatibility requirements for related aero-derivative hardware through getting connected with Engineering Departments. • Making shop level process demonstration for industrialization. • Making process re-assessment for optimization considering process cost, efficiency and ergonomics. • Implementing process in end-customer shop and ensure smooth operation of process in shop level.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Materials Engineering, • Maximum 2 years experience, • Strong oral and written communication skills, English, • Able to effectively interface with all levels of internal and external customers, • Effective team building, influencing and problem solving abilities, • Proven ability to communicate effectively and lead change, • Willingness and ability to travel 25% of the time.
Desired Characteristics: • Past experience in EDM machining/ drilling application development will be a strong differentiator. • Proven technical background and experience in non-conventional and/or conventional machining(turning, milling, multi-task machining etc.). • Experience with CAD/CAM software packages (NX is preferable) • Experience in gas turbine engine component manufacturing and/or repair development/ industrialization. • Previous experience with Aero-derivative / Aviation gas turbines. • Hands-on manufacturing or repair shop experience. • Working knowledge of blueprint tolerances and required fit-ups / run-outs with mating hardware. • Experience working in a global environment with multicultural teams
