Role Summary:
Responsible for leading team focused on global telecom circuit procurement, provisioning & billing. Partner with business network teams, CoreTech finance, & global telecom providers to deliver comprehensive network infrastructure on a globally. Responsible for aligning commercial telecom practices & technology to CoreTech standards & overall business requirements.



Essential Responsibilities:

  • Act as point of contact for all major network carriers used by GE and liaison to the GE businesses
  • Provide status reporting of service levels and associated spending to GE business and CoreTech management
  • Manage and oversee team responsible for procuring, provisioning and delivering connectivity for multiple GE business networks
  • Review and participate in financial review process within Coretech accountable for maintaining budget and controllership
  • Work with Network Deployment teams to establish circuit delivery schedules, costing and act as escalation point for issues regarding delivery and ongoing billing
  • Represent Network Services Provisioning team on network standards & NxI’s projects as applicable
  • Ensure vendors are delivering according to agreed SLA’s and act as escalation point for businesses
  • Provide subject matter expertise in all Network services to support the CoreTech, Customer and GE business teams
  • Partner with the businesses and teams to provide the highest performance and lowest cost solution for their requirements while maintaining performance, availability and quality
  • Design and implement the Company's network infrastructure globally and assure that the network design is reviewed on a periodic basis to maintain an optimal price / performance
  • Provide support to the GE businesses for their specific local and global requirements



    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of technical I.T. infrastructure or operations experience
  • Minimum 5 years of project / program management experience in a telecommunications environment
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing projects in a multi-vendor global enterprise WAN network
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing LAN / WAN design & implementation experience completing projects through planning, design and implementation



    Desired Characteristics:

  • Solid working knowledge in WAN transport systems / services and Telecommunications systems / service
  • Strong negotiation skills, provide leadership to process improvement programs
  • Experience leading technical initiatives within the networking space
  • Understanding of ITIL support framework for all Voice and Data Network service lines
  • Able to work within a culture of continuous improvement and change in a fast paced global delivery environment
  • Financial management and reporting
  • Project management certification
  • Telecom experience and responsibility
  • Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activities
  • Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
  • Applies knowledge to coach and mentor others
  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships, creates processes with customer viewpoint and partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives
