Role Summary: The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing shipments, reporting transportation metrics, identifying trends across global transportation methods and practices, providing visibility through projects and tools, ensuring that internal customers’ needs are met and that company policy and international trade compliance regulations are held. The role also includes initiating improvements in daily operations, and facilitating a strategic outlook related to it.
Coordinate parts delivery with internal customers to ensure shipments are consistent with end-customers’ requirements, support the timely delivery and to communicate to the field
Complete shipping transaction in appropriate systems and prepares shipping paperwork (Import/Export documentation, invoices and packing lists etc.)
Initiate parts collections and returns and coordinates with freight forwarders
Proactively resolve and escalate delivery issues
Analyzes of transportation spend and drives standardization of transportation processes, implement and maintain tools and dashboards for logistics metrics
Own local inventory management including waste, responsible to deliver monthly inventory targets and for record keeping
Support warehousing optimization/Lean projects and perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor
Manage field tools (calibration, purchasing, budget control)
Prepare Logistics related statutory reports and submits to authorities
Keep close day-to-day cooperation with Service Center and Business Operations and act as back-up function for them
Bachelors in Economics, Logistics or Supply Chain
Some’ experience in Operations, Customs and/or Logistics or similar
Willing to travel (10% of time)
Very strong verbal and written skills in English
Experience in Oracle or other ERP system
Basic financial understanding
Strong excel skills
German language is an advantage
Driving license is an advantage
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast, changing environment
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a cross-functional multi-language team
Strong project management, communication and analytical skills solve complex problems
Demonstrated logistics leadership in a service related industry
Familiar with Lean Six Sigma tools and approach
Strong motivation to deliver company goals, “can do attitude”, willingness to support other functions
Outstanding multilingual communication skills, including experience with communicating with others from different countries and cultures
