Role Summary: The GE Additive Lead Engineer will utilize their experience and expertise to collaboratively solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and can affect short-term and some long-term business goals. You’ll contribute to the overall business strategy. Support the launch & development of the Additive business & technologies.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:
Work well in a highly dynamic and evolving workplace
Take innovative approaches to problem solving
Engage peers and reinforce collaborative approaches to problem solving
Identify projects and solutions that are tied to program goals
Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions, and problem resolutions
Development of process parameters, optimization, qualification of material parameters for array of modalities, material selection and application engineering
Provide leadership, motivation, and technical direction for assigned program tasks and personnel
Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Support other GE businesses, internal and external customers, and suppliers as required
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college
A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering capacity
Demonstrated leadership in defining the state of the art in at least one technical specialty, along with the ability to teach and set standard practices within this field
Domain expertise in one or more areas of alloy design, material application engineering, additive modality process parameter development, additive material mechanical property analysis, development of additive modalities and emerging technologies
