Role Summary:
Reporting to the EAP Solution Integration Leader, the role of the Solution Integration Engineer is to ensure that GE’s EMS software products meet the customer requirements by combining technical expertise and product knowledge to implement and support the product. This role suits those with a strong technical skill set. It involves a high degree of customer contact, consultancy and liaison with development and project teams across Asia-Pacific and globally.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Solution Integration leadership of SCADA/EMS projects implementing the GE Asset Control Product Suite.
• Ensuring accurate and rapid configuration of the GE product set.
• Liaising with GE internal teams for the design and delivery of project specific software to meet customer requirements.
• Liaising with GE customers at various project levels to:
- maintain good customer relations and on time delivery; and
- elicit technical requirements and to negotiate technical change
• Supporting systems through installation, testing and roll-out to live operation.
• Support the customer by
- Investigate and resolve problems reported by Customer.
- Clarify conflictive technical situations
- Provide technical support
• Hardware and installation support for internal GE PowerOn systems used by projects and customer support.
• Providing input to and optimisation of the project to assist Project Managers.
• Provide specialized technical support from a remote location either by telephone, email or Internet.
• Work closely with GE development team on delivering software upgrades and enhancements.
• Ensuring that all related quality procedures, guidelines and initiatives are adhered to ensure continuous improvement of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in large-scale software technical leadership.
• Minimum one year experience with standard network operating systems.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Experience in a range of hardware and software technologies commonly used in the Electric Utility industry. (i.e. microprocessor based Protection. Relays/IED’s, SCADA Systems – Including RTU’s and communications protocols). Preference will be given to those candidates with knowledge of the XA/21 (PowerOn Reliance) EMS.

Desired Characteristics:
• Good knowledge and first experiences in implementation, deployment, administration, troubleshooting:
- DMS/EMS and/or substation/ control center activities
- Communication protocol (DNP3, IEC 101, IEC 104,…… etc
- Electrical networks, power system analysis & instrumentation
- RTU’s & DCS
- Database and Displays building tools
- Software configuration management, test methodology
- Technical leadership experience in the power and/or telecommunications industries, particularly transmission and distribution automation and control systems
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and be self-directed in workload prioritization.
• Experience in a range of hardware and software technologies commonly used in the Electric Utility industry.
• Experience in project delivery integrating software products and/or technical support of a live environment.
• Understanding of databases and database concepts such as SQL and relational database design.
• Knowledge of software development tools, test automation tools, Client / Server applications,
• Good working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle. (SDLC)
• Experience of working within a Quality environment, for example, ISO or Six Sigma.
• Experience in project delivery integrating software products and/or technical support of a live environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and consultancy skills, including strong verbal and written English skills. Must be comfortable presenting technical design, technical solutions and enterprise architecture solutions to clients/customers. (English proficiency required).
• Thoroughly motivated self-starter, able to work independently, motivate and influence others.
• Multilingual.
