Role Summary: As a member of a World-Class Team, the Manufacturing Manager / Production Manager position is responsible for oversight / management of all Production activities and employees.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Manufacturing Manager - Production, you will:
Be responsible for meeting production schedules, standards, and profitability. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and oversees workflow. Leads production team to accomplish within limits of EHS standards. Perform any and all duties to accomplish departmental tasks
Lead / model appropriate safety behavior. Maintain good housekeeping, health and safety standards within work area. Report / resolves near misses / accidents as they occur
Provide direction to employees working in the assigned production areas. Conducts performance appraisals within work area. In conjunction with, Operations Director and HR to resolve disciplinary issues
Facilitate cost-effective use of overtime
Be Responsible for on-time delivery of product shipments to our customers. Provides direction to employees working in the assigned production areas to accomplish workflow
Have responsibility for daily and monthly production reports
Be responsible for the cost-effective use of product and human resources in the production process
Oversee Alstom Production System (lean implementation program identifying wastes and improving efficiencies). Implements APS in workplace guiding improvements, tracking and reporting metrics
Troubleshoot problems areas and works within team to facilitate corrective actions
Help maintain care, custody, control and accuracy of the inventory
Ensures that all shop problems are properly documented and corrected via EAR’s, QCR’s or some other process
Responsible for documenting processes for ISO and ensuring that these processes are followed
Ensure that all products are properly wired, configured, assembled and employees perform self-inspection
Maintain harmony among workers and resolves issues between workers
Perform other duties as required
Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline
Minimum of 5 years of related experience in management and/or training as well as experience with low volume electronics
Desired Characteristics: LANGUAGE SKILLS Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to mentor and serve as a role model. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY Excellent MS Office skills and analytical ability required. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Certification in Lean, Six Sigma (or equivalent Quality Certification), APICS helpful.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk .to meet with employees in production and other departments.. The abilities to talk and hear are necessary to communicate with relevant parties about manufacturing/quality assurance issues. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus in order to read, write, use the computer, and handle equipment.
