Role Summary: An exciting opportunity has arisen for Embedded Systems Engineers to join our Avionics business area in Cheltenham. These positions are required to meet increased demand for embedded systems engineering activity on a cutting edge, safety critical programme. In this role you will utilise your experience and expertise to develop products for the next generation of aircraft.

Essential Responsibilities: Whilst working in the development team, with the help and guidance of a Team Leader or Technical Lead is tasked with achieving any of the following: • Capturing requirements & understanding the context of requirements • Design and implementation of a technical solution • Documenting the design and ensuring it is traceable to the requirements • Validating, integrating, qualifying and testing. • Reading and understanding Project Planning documents – inc. Development Plans, verification plans, certification plans • Gaining knowledge of project tools and processes • Understanding the product, its safety criticality and functions within an aircraft • Producing clear, concise written reports and instructions • Ability to work to timescales achieve personal deadlines and contribute to team deadlines • Ability to contribute effectively to team-working • Good problem-solving and creative, solution-building skills • Good verbal and written communication skills • Demonstrating initiative, developing solutions with minimal supervision and guidance
• Science based Degree (or equivalent) in either Aerospace, Avionics or Systems Engineering, Engineering, Electronic, Electrical, Software Engineering, Computing for Real-Time Systems, Electronics and Software Engineering (but not IT-based degrees) or equivalent knowledge and experience. • Working experience of Embedded Systems Engineering in Avionics or a similar safety critical environment. • Appreciation of Hardware Engineering and Software Engineering. • Ability to read, understand and adhere to mainstream Engineering Lifecycle Procedures.
