Role Summary: • Assess suitability of a wind turbine for site conditions by performing system level loads simulations and ensuring component margins • Devise micro-siting layout optimization to minimize wake losses and maximize power production • Employ load mitigation strategies to enable turbine suitability for site conditions • Leverage Turbine controls and operability conditions to perform system optimization • Understand component capabilities to enable suitability for site conditions
Essential Responsibilities: • Serve Sales & Commercial Operation teams for Wind Turbine Micro-siting and Wind Farm risk assessment • Perform Mechanical Loads Analysis (MLA) of Wind Turbine models at site environmental conditions • Apply load mitigation strategies to enable turbine suitability at site conditions • Liaise with component teams to understand the true component limits and apply for site-suitability • Work with tool development engineers and third parties to automate and simplify MLA tools and processes • Devise strategies for faster MLA
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Mechanical / Civil / Electrical / Aerospace Engineering or Equivalent • At least 2 years of relevant Engineering Experience • In-depth knowledge of structural dynamics and fatigue • Hands-on experience in aero-elastic simulation tools such as ADAMS or ABAQUS • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving mindset and creativity • Affluent communication skills in English – Verbal & Written • Good Interpersonal communication skills to work in a global team framework.
Desired Characteristics: • Wind turbine micro-siting experience with exposure to Wind Resource Assessment • Hands-on experience in FLEX5 tool for Wind Turbine loads calculation • Ability to work in a matrix team environment • Experience in MATLAB based tools development
