Role Summary: This position requires an individual that possesses a desire to learn and use visualization software for control systems and exhibits strong project management and communication skills.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Nuclear & Fossil Steam Turbine Controls Engineer, you will:
Design and implement HMI graphic and communication application networks for control retrofit projects using a variety of graphical software tools
Establish written operation design basis from OEM elementary drawings and customer input for traceability
Design and implement application specific software for Nuclear and Fossil Steam Turbine and Balance of Plant (BOP) retrofit projects using a variety of software tools
Design and implement application specific testing simulation software as required to validate GE or Non-GE unit controls and BOP functionality during Factory Acceptance Testing
Provide technical support of HMI and control system application software during commissioning as needed to ensure satisfied customers
Perform hardware selection of system control components for HMI and MKVIe solutions
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of experience in technical field
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, as required
Domestic / international Controls Design experience
Proficiency with GE Speedtronic control systems, specifically with Mark VIe control systems
Field engineering experience
Software experience in power generation for GE or Non-GE turbine controls and BOP process control design
Strong background in HMI server configuration, application software, and architect software including Proficy iFix, Cimplicity, PI Historian and OPC server, and / or similar architect applications
Industry experience in creating customer specific application software from design standards, OEM elementary drawings, and / or control engineering / customer input
Experience in developing and debugging functional block based and / or ladder-logic and programming with HMI interfaces
Track record of long lead control system projects
Strong troubleshooting skills including hardware, software and communication networking
Good oral and written communication skills
Motivated, self-starter, results oriented
Proven team player with solid cooperation, flexibility and mentoring traits
Proficient MS Office computer skills
Familiarity with Six Sigma and ISO quality programs
