Role Summary: GE Kuwait technology center is looking for qualified candidates for engineering specialist role to conduct experimentation under stringent GE's safety and quality guidelines in its state of the art materials and fuels characterization labs.
Essential Responsibilities: - Perform metallographic / microscopic analysis of test samples including mechanical testing as required - Calibrate and maintain the associated testing equipment - Report the results in a timely fashion to associated stakeholders - Carry out and maintain GE specific and other needed certifications of the testing equipment - Create and maintain standard operating procedures for the testing equipment with in the GE EHS and quality framework - Help the lead engineers in the regular EHS and other audits, maintain logs and close the open issues
Qualifications/Requirements: - Diploma or higher degree in mechanical and materials engineering - Atleast 2 years experience in handling materials characterization and mechanical testing equipment - Experience in servicing of mechanical testing equipment / thermal equipment - Experience in calibrating microscopes, mechanical testing equipment and high temperature furnaces - Knowledge of ASTM specifications of mechanical testing and certification procedures - Knowledge of ISO quality control procedures and certifications - Eagerness to learn - Good presentation and communication skills in English
Desired Characteristics: - Good knowledge in lab testing, material characterization equipment such as optical and electron microscopes etc - Knowledge of setting up labs with quality certification - Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
