Role Summary:
The PowerMax Portfolio Analyst will work under direction to support activities within the SAP CoE Program Management Office related to Program and Portfolio Management. The Analyst will provide support to the Power Max Portfolio Lead by gathering and presenting information to assist with the smooth running of the overall PowerMax Program.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Areas of support will include Portfolio Management (including Project Intake process and Program level Change Control), Program level Issue and Risk Management, Dependency Management, Resource Analysis, Timelines and overall Program level status reporting.
  • Responsible for wing-to-wing execution of technical projects to deliver high quality outcomes to internal and external customers. Makes sure project management practices are followed and improved as needed.
  • Portfolio Management – Responsible for ensuring that complete and accurate information is maintained for all projects and opportunities/proposals on the PowerMax Roadmap.
  • Program Level RAID [Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions] Management – Responsible for the administration of and training on the RAID Process and Tool. Support the Portfolio Lead in managing Program level RAID.
  • Dependency Management – Responsible for administration of the Dependency tool. Support the Portfolio Lead in managing Program level Dependencies.
  • Demand & Capacity – Responsible for administration of the Demand and Capacity tool. Support the Portfolio Lead in managing Demand and Capacity data.
  • Timelines and Integrated Program Plan (IPP) – Responsible for maintaining accurate Program Level timelines and an IPP
  • Program Review Board meeting. Collate materials for Program Review Board meeting and ensure relevant participants attendance. Take Program Review Board meeting minutes and action items. Enter Actions in RAID tool and follow up on closure. Track compliance with Program Review Board reporting submissions deadlines

  • Project Manager Coordination and Project Reporting. Assist Portfolio Lead to prepare for bi-weekly Project Manager Synchronization call.
  • Define execution plan and approach based on project scope, expected timeline and available budget/resources
  • Work with globally located technical team often comprising of members of separate organizations to coordinate day-to-day execution as per outlined plan
  • Cooperate with and manage external vendors as required. Manage procurement and onboarding process
  • Ensure pre-defined project management processes and practices are followed. Drive simplification and improvement as necessary
  • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as required
  • Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project
  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting
  • Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectations
  • Track project outcomes realization and customer satisfaction levels through established metrics against service level. Ensure lessons learned are collected

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or Engineering or some years of IT technical experience
  • Considerable years of IT professional experience
  • Some years of professional experience in Software Development Project Management

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as required
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Baden, Switzerland

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of and competency with Program / Project management tools & techniques (i.e. MS Project, Smart sheet, JIRA, HP ALM etc.)
  • Basic competency with Relational databases and SQL
  • Knowledge of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) ideally for SAP Projects
  • Exposure to Program/Project management and Governance of cross-functional IT projects
  • Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
  • Experience working with others on a global basis
  • Applies knowledge to coach and mentor others
  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships, creates processes with customer viewpoint and partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives
  • Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills -communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve, creates actionable strategies and operational plans
  • Change oriented – actively generates process improvements, champions and drives change initiatives, confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly
  • PMP, ScrumMaster or related Project Management certifications
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite of products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
