Role Summary: The SWEAP Internship is the premier technical internship program at GE Digital, offering an opportunity to those with a passion for software craftsmanship to hone their development skills over the 10-12 week program. You will lead by doing – gaining real-world, hands-on experience by working on high-impact and challenging projects alongside some of the brightest technical mentors in the industry.

Unique paid internship program, providing students with real-world software development work experience and intensive software industry training to supplement the academic curriculum.
Continuous learning, development, and the opportunity to collaborate with software professionals on global development teams
A head start into the world of professional software development patterns and practices.
Experience working with enterprise software development tools (e.g., version control, bug tracking, release management, etc.)
Currently pursuing computer science/engineering or software development studies from an accredited university or software accelerator. Additional technical or IT degrees may also be applicable.
A minimum 3.0 overall or in-major GPA or proof of satisfactory completion from software accelerator program
Must commit to working full-time (40 hrs/wk) for 10-12 weeks from New Orleans, LA at the GE Digital Solutions Technology Center. This position does offer relocation.
Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug testing, reference verification, and background check.
Must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and leadership skills
Relevant work experience (prior internships, research, or other experience in software development)
Ability to work in multi-cultural teams from around the globe
Passion and aptitude for software development with solid technical & analytical skills
Self-motivated, responsible and disciplined. Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines
