Role Summary: As a Communications Specialist, you will establish and execute a comprehensive communication strategy for multiple GE Transportation manufacturing sites, aimed at engaging all employees in the key objectives and the priorities for the business. You will provide external and internal communications for multiple sites as well as Supply Chain and Technology activities.
Build and execute holistic, multi-channel communication campaigns for Fort Worth, Kansas City and Las Vegas manufacturing sites, as well as customers, partners, shareholders and media. Lead communications programs for the Supply Chain and Technology organizations that drive business strategy and alignment, inspire cultural transformation and foster customer centrality. Enable leaders to utilize the most effective vehicles for communicating business initiatives.
Lead and manage site tours at the Fort Worth plant for customers and business partners.
Identify stories opportunities, write articles or shoot video for internal and external communications vehicles.
Identify and develop media story opportunities that build upon GE Transportation’s thought leadership and digital industrial transformation
Maintain the site activities calendar, advise on and lead site event planning
Support community engagement (March of Dimes, United Way) and Affinity Group activities and communications
Manage promotional material placement for Corp / HQ initiatives
Coordinate with local GE Volunteers leaders for volunteer opportunities arising from sponsorships and other activities
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 5 years of communications experience
Strong interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills with the ability to conceptualize, structure, write, and present compelling stories for a wide range of audiences
Excellent project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet aggressive deadlines with high standards for quality
Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, influential communications.
Competent in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Excel
Experience external/internal communications plans
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with news media
Excellent business acumen
Strong leadership skills
Minimum of 8-10 years of communications experience, including employee communications, media, and community relations
Demonstrated experience directly engaging senior business leader; ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization
Experience filming and editing capabilities
Broad knowledge of print, video and digital media technologies
