Role Summary: GE Renewables is leading the transformation to becoming a Digital Industrial company and as such is looking for team members with a desire to drive that transformation to join us. The Staff Architect role is a technical expert who is responsible for the overall design, development, documentation and integration of the available technology environment/frameworks within the Renewable Enterprise Architecture Organization. Develops a business solution/IT service area across the entire tech stack.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Staff Enterprise Architect, you will...
Utilize technical expertise and hands on experience to design and implement solutions across the full technology stack.
Manage and own solution design, development, testing & migration of Enterprise Standards solutions through the delivery lifecycle
Operates as Primary Leader and contact for a P&L acting as key liaison and coordinator for our Enterprise Architecture team in providing support and communication
Leverages technical breadth to identify critical path decisions, make recommendations and influences program leaders and business process owners to maximize project payback
Manage daily activities, issue resolution and communication across project execution teams in order to deliver projects on-time, on-budget, as-requested by customer
Align with CORETECH and other GE Digital teams to maintain consistency across all architectures striving to not create new whenever possible.
Maximize opportunity for reuse across application platforms to reduce application footprint and cost wherever possible. Champion for simplification.
Partner with and manage contracted resources with applicable expertise in as needed
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Finance/Accounting, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar, OR minimum 7 years of relevant IT work experience
Minimum 3 years of experience with compute OS technologies such as Linux, Unix, Windows and their associated hardware stacks.
Minimum 3 years exposure with network technologies (LAN/WAN, Load Balancing, etc)
Experience in Cloud deployments with emphasis on AWS and Cloud Foundry.
Minimum 3 years of Technical Project Management experience with good understanding of enterprise architecture and full stack deployments
A deep desire to be a hands on technical leader.
Experience configuring and supporting computing architectures including cloud architectures.
Good understanding of networking topologies and technologies (LAN, WAN, WLAN) as well as load balancing.
Experience with relational and non-relational database systems
Knowledge of development methodologies in one or more development language (Java, .net, PHP, Ruby, etc)
Ability to break down large amounts of data into categories and drive projects based off the results
Excellent track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities
Ability to effectively communicate and work with a global team including other GE employees and contractors
Current scripting / development experience with Ruby, Powershell, Unix shell scripting
Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships and creates processes with customer viewpoint
Strong analytical skills – strong problem solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
