Role Summary: You will be responsible for data Ingestion, Design, and Support of our IT Asset Big Data. You will be responsible for designing data models in data storage tools that you research and implement. You will be a senior team member who will develop code while mentoring a group of junior developers with ingestion, automation, and design
In this role you will drive and execute the strategy for Data Ingestion, Modeling, Design, and Consumption
Partner with Data Engineering, IT Risk/Security, and infrastructure teams to understand data sources, tools, and monitoring & event generators of IT Asset Data
Drive Ingestion of data into our Big Data environment
Design for optimal support and resiliency
Drive design of appropriate Composite and Consumption of data
Strategically identify and drive implementation on the various data storage options necessary for Data-as-a-Services and Analytics use cases
Partner with the IT Risk team to deliver outcomes that will better protect the Company and provide solutions to the EVM team
Partner with both core infrastructure teams and DWS on specific requirements and drive one common process
Actively communicate progress against goals
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, OR in lieu of degree: HS Diploma/GED and 10+ years of IT experience or equivalent military experience/training.
Minimum 5 years of IT experience with specific focus on Business Intelligence
Minimum 5 years of IT technical experience in database technologies
Comfortable with developing queries, functions, and procedures
Understanding of transactional database design
Understanding of Star and other denormalized schemas
Familiar with Big Data tools and platforms (Hadoop, Greenplum, HVR, Casandra, etc.)
Familiar with Informatica, Talend, and other ETL transport tools
Experience working with end users on Business Intelligence related requests to understand requirements and make recommendations for what tool would best meet the users need
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences
Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships; creates processes with customer viewpoint; partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives
Demonstrated commitment to quality and delivering complete solutions that solve business problems or deliver our strategy
Familiarity with the following technology areas: PC, Mobility, Compute, Application and Network
