Role Summary:
As a Technical Inspection Leader – O&G Domain Expert, you will work across our Inspection as a Service Delivery organization on what assets need to be inspected. With your knowledge of O&G structures be able to provide knowledge regarding failure modes, critical flaw sizes, inspection locations, inspection intervals and flaw propagation risks.

Essential Responsibilities:
With your deep knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry you will be key in the development of new asset specific inspections, along with establishing processes and protocols.
This position will be key in driving global growth and will touch all aspects of our AIS business solving some of O&G biggest inspection problems. In this role, you will represent GE Digital Solutions as an experienced and fully qualified Technical Leader. Regular Job Duties/Responsibilities include:
  • Provide technical leadership and O&G Domain Expertise to personnel supporting the assigned projects.
  • Utilize asset knowledge, stress and/or facture mechanics to provide guidelines regarding key inspection locations, applicable code/standards, and inspection limits.
  • Using your knowledge of O&G structures work with NDT Lvl III to design inspections based on asset knowledge to include failure modes, critical flaw sizes, and inspection intervals.
  • Develop Product Requirement Documents (PRD) defining requirements for inspection of a specific asset.
  • Work with customers to make sure applicable inspections meet customer requirements and desired need for Fitness for Duty.
  • Understand and interpret codes, standards and specifications related O&G assets.
  • Provide support to cross-functional teams including Sales & New Product Introduction. Review & improve operating procedures.
  • Have a working knowledge of each of the primary NDT methods.
  • Gather strategic information from the field and recommend product development enhancements/customizations.
  • Own and help implement the Corrosion and Inspection Management Strategy
  • Develop inspection work scopes for asset inspections including the identification of test points and inspection criteria
  • Review inspection findings, conduct anomaly assessments including Fitness for Service evaluations


Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
  • B. S. or B. A. in Engineering or related technical area
  • 10 years experience in engineering and/or related technical area
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
  • North America & International travel required


Desired Characteristics:
  • MS in Engineering, Material Science or related technical areas
  • 10 years experience in O&G Engineering & Integrity Management
  • Extensive experience in integrity management in the oil and gas industry
  • Have a wide breadth and deep knowledge within the oil and gas inspection or engineering industry with proven skills in project management
  • Good understanding of in-service application of NDT
  • Working knowledge of API, ASME, NACE & ISO.
  • Extensive corrosion management process experience
  • Expertise with regards to asset integrity, procedures, guidelines and KPI’s
  • Knowledge of Inspection Management Strategies
  • Offshore experience
  • Ability to obtain Bosiet certification & TWIC
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Experience approaching/evaluating a problem from many angles.
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Experience reading prints.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent client service, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Actively seeks out and implements new solutions.
