Role Summary: This position is responsible for leading key strategic initiatives within the Database Services Team for Corporate Information Services, and to provide IT and Database leadership to PeopleSoft application development and support groups within CIS. Partner with PeopleSoft Application teams in the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions. Represent CIS in cross-business councils and with key vendors.
Upgrade, configure, tune, and debug all components of Oracle 11G and 12G databases.
Plan, execute, and support continuous production rollouts of new functionality
Plan and execute strategy to stay current on Oracle technology and releases.
Provide evaluation, architecture, and integration skills to implement and support 3rd Party products within the Oracle framework.
Architect HA/DR solutions to ensure application availability.
Contribute to overall capacity planning and configuration management of the supporting infrastructure.
Work with the CIS Security Team to promptly address any security issues.
Identify and lead automation of repetitive processes to minimize errors and maximize service delivery.
Document processes and train team members within an onsite/offsite resource model.
Integrate with a larger DBA team that supports other custom Oracle database applications.
Work effectively across various support teams and with senior management.
Apply Six Sigma methodology to all aspects of the applications.
Research DB technology, determine business requirements, propose changes, and develop migration and implementation plans.
Work with application teams and business leaders to formulate project plans and strategy.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent (STEM) with minimum 6 years of experience as data engineer.
A minimum of 3 year of experience using Hadoop ecosystem, Map-Reduce, Spark, NoSQL (HBase, MongoDB etc.), Cassandra is required
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.

Must be willing to work out of an office located in Van Buren Township, MI
Minimum 1-2 years in Oracle PeopleSoft administration experience including implementations, upgrades, and performance tuning (SQL, OEM, and PL/SQL).
Minimum 3 years in Oracle 11g and 12c database administration experience including implementations, upgrades, and performance tuning (SQL, OEM, and PL/SQL).
Minimum 3 years experience with Linux and/or Solaris operating systems.
Minimum 3 years experience of authoring and maintaining UNIX shell scripts.
Minimum 3+ years with problem analysis/resolution for O/S, database, and middle tier technologies.
Minimum 2 years experience supporting high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Minimum 2 years of experience in Oracle RAC and Grid control.
Minimum 1+ years of project management experience
Knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft administration & People Tools
Experience in Oracle 12C.
Experience with Hitachi HUR and HSI technologies.
Experience with NetApp storage and associated technologies.
Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts.
Data Modeling and ERD design experience.
Strong track record of understanding and learning about current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities.
Proven ability to recognize and execute process improvements.
Minimum 1+ years of project management experience.
Strong skills in new product evaluation, architecture, implementation, and integration with Oracle databases and Oracle Applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication, cross-team training, and documentation skills.
Willingness to support 24/7/365 applications including on call rotations.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources.
