Role Summary:
This role is responsible for all aspects of warehousing and material management including fulfilment, transactional quality, inventory accuracy, productivity and freight forwarding

Essential Responsibilities:
• Be responsible to manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including site services,
• implementing necessary upgrades and a responsible to evaluate annual budgets
• Ensure operational excellence through all phases of material movement and storage
• Meet inventory and operational targets including month-end and quarter close processes for inventory.
• Responsible to manage materials fulfillment metrics including on-time delivery
• Be responsible to meet customer schedules effectively through advanced planning and create ability to expedite shipments as required to meet deadlines
• Be responsible to work with customers externally and internally to identify new
• opportunities to improve our current processes as well as design and implement progressive management processes and systems based on LEAN and Six Sigma for control and replenishment of materials
• Must maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in all dealing with internal customers and external suppliers.
• NOTE: Position is currently based in Pretoria, however, location is subject to change

• Secondary (university) degree or primary degree with at least 5 years’ experience in a materials management or operations position

Desired Characteristics:
• Six Sigma trained, strong analytical skills, proven project management skills
• Must exhibit strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Prior experience in Railway Industry or in distribution environment is strongly preferred
• Must possess strong oral and written communication skills
• Must also be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• APICS certified
