Role Summary: The Manufacturing Engineering Leader will lead the manufacturing engineering team and needs to demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes throughout the manufacturing team. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for yourself and others and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Manufacturing Engineering Leader, you will:
Provide leadership to a team of Manufacturing Engineers with the aim of achieving operational goals (i.e. Health and Safety, Quality, and Productivity)
Support multiple internal process teams in a teaming environment; provide leadership support and guidance to ensure the teams are positioned to achieve all goals
Offer day-to-day technical guidance to engineers and technicians in the field of engineering and maintenance
Manage and execute the capital investment plan
Examine the improvement ideas from maintenance and production teams and executes them
Control the documentation processes required by ISO 9001
Establish and manage a cross trained manufacturing engineering group which works on a common base according to a well-defined strategy and fully supports the manufacturing cells both in terms of daily activities and long term improvements by working close to cell leaders, production planners and shift supervisors and the appropriate level of engineering group
Lead NPIs, Machine installations and technology transfers
Create and improve manufacturing documents
Own the engineering part of document management system
Utilize Six Sigma as a method of product and process improvement
Develop mentoring program to ensure technical talent development for both the manufacturing engineers and the technical work force
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 7 years of experience in process improvement optimization, large capital projects, or safety excellence in a manufacturing environment
Engineered valves and machining / welding experience
