Role Summary: The purpose of this role is to provide technical expertise in service and maintenance of deployed complex software solutions and working on new deployments while interfacing with the engineering team and the end customer.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will be: • The primary contact to provide technical support for the end customer. This requires working closely with software engineering teams to restore service as quickly as possible in case of production system outages. • Responsible for build and maintenance of tools for core operational services, software deployment, application monitoring and performance testing. • Defining long-term tools and support services strategy aligning to principles for automation. • Assisting development of training documentation by sharing technical expertise with documentation team. • Managing both internal and external communications for scheduled maintenance, incidents and outages. • Maintaining products and/or services for data protection, security, disaster recovery and emergency patching.
Qualifications/Requirements: • 5 years of experience performing code deployments, monitoring and performance testing and/or system and application support . • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
Desired Characteristics: TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS : • Possesses strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, fluency in coding or scripting, solid communication skills and a desire to solve complex problems at scale • Linux/Unix and/or Windows system administration experience • Experience with Deployment & Automation and Configuration Management tools like Chef, Puppet, Git or Jenkins • Experience with scripting and/or programming languages such as Perl, Python, Shell, Ruby, JSON, or Java • Experience with Monitoring and Logging tools such as elasticsearch, LogStash, Kibana, Nagios or Splunk • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, write and interpret business and technical documents. NON-TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS : • Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time • Must have a valid driver’s license and obtain a passport • Willingness to participate in on 24/7 call rotation. • Willingness to work on weekends, some holidays and various shifts based on business needs
