Role Summary: The Professional Services Director will be responsible for the organization, leadership and growth of the Edge software service team.
Essential Responsibilities: This Senior Director, Professional Services will be accountable to the General Manager of Operations for global leadership of the team tasked with implementing and configuring GE’s Industrial Internet Control Systems software and delivering customer funded software applications. In addition, this leader will be tasked with collaborating with the A&C, EC, and Digital software teams to building a modular, configurable library of software micro services that can be repeatedly used in future application development projects. Additionally, the Senior Director Professional Services will:
Complete P&L leadership of the global software services team
Work with commercial teams and represent GE Automation and Controls to its customers and articulate the value proposition of connected assets and Edge computing to all levels of customer teams
Build a world class implementation and configuration software team that has outstanding technical skills and customer focus
Represent Services on the Edge team, track the pipeline of orders, and ensure fulfillment of all orders in order to achieve the operating plan
Define and implement a well-defined project management and service process. Champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management
Hold teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work, leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity, and mentoring and developing team members
Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team
Work with Product Management and Engineering as required to optimize the solution and provide input into new product capability requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in services, sales, operations, or engineering in infrastructure businesses, such as Oil & Gas, Water, Power Generation or Mining

Proven ability to lead teams to achieve outstanding results
Willingness and desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment
Masters degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration
Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level
Understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies
Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly-credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks
Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view
